Buying hockey gear, especially goalie gear, can be a little daunting -- especially if you're new to the sport. The Ice Hockey Locker is an eBay affiliate store. Buying goalie gear from eBay is a really good idea for a couple of reasons: (1) There are many online equipment distributors offering new gear on eBay for much less than what it would cost you to buy it new, (2) There are many individuals offering their used gear on eBay for a fraction of the price it would cost for new gear.

Always research the seller's feedback to make sure they have a good reputation in the eBay community. See what people say who've had previous transactions with them. If you have questions about a specific item of gear, there is a place on each eBay item listing where you can ask the seller a question. I've personally purchased many used hockey items over the years on eBay for my son, and I've never been burned by anyone.

Rbk 5k Goalie Skates: This is a light skate that works especially well for butterfly goalies who have a deep butterfly stance.

 

 

 

Rbk Pro Goalie Jock: This is a double cup with an extra pad about 3/4" thick on the front and some high-density foam around the back. This extra padding really helps absorb high impacts from a direct hit to the groin. The leg straps fit well and are fully adjustable. Once they are adjusted properly, they don't shift during game play. Like all RBK gear, the quality is first rate.

 

 

Rbk X-Pulse 6.0 Goalie Pads: This is a nice mid-range set of pads for the price. The only trouble reported has been getting the knee to land on the gear just right. But, with some adjustment this is easily corrected. Also, some have reported they had better movement when they removed the thigh board (but, there's the risk of getting a stinger if you do that). Overall, reviews have been good for these Rbk hockey pads goalie.


Rbk Premier 2 Goalie Pads: This open leg channel pad has been well received. They will be a little stiff initially, however, they don't take long to break in. These are not for standup goalies, but are full butterfly pads. These pads are light, making them easy to travel with. They have received good reviews.

 

Rbk X-Pulse Goalie Stick: This wooden stick is extremely light and well-balanced with really good return and cast. The look and feel of these Rbk goalie sticks is great and they have received good reviews from everyone I've heard of who's used them.

 

 

Rbk Premier I Goalie Chest Protector: This chest protector is a little stiff at first, but will break in quickly to allow for good mobility. Goalies report there are no open spots -- even those who take a lot of shots in the bread basket. These are a thicker and softer pad. Like at Rbk gear, they have been well received.

Rbk Premier II Goalie Chest Protector: This chest protector is thinner than the Premier I. They take a little while to get used to because they are thinner and a bit stiffer, but once you get used to them they offer excellent protection. This chest and arm protector has received very good reviews from the goalie community.

 

 

RBK Premier Pro Blocker: This is a thinner blocker than the traditional type. It seems to be the trend in goalie blockers to go thinner. This blocker offers excellent thumb and forefinger protection (something that can sometimes be missing in some blockers). However, it's not so bulky that it makes it difficult to handle the stick. This is truly a pro class of goalie gear and the reviews have been really outstanding.

If you're looking for an Rbk intermediate goalie blocker, this is a good choice.

 

Rbk 8K Glove: These Rbk goalie gloves have been very well reviewed among goalies. It fits like a dream with very soft leather inside. It's not a very stiff glove and will be quickly broken in. The stitching is high quality and everything is where it should be. It's very cushioned and has good "breathability." Excellent glove.
